Contact Mobile Number (516) 361-3036
SUMMARY:
This workshop is designed to provide a detailed description
of the forces of gravity and how the participant’s connection to the Reformer
simulates this gravitational force during the eccentric phase of the muscle
contraction. By doing so I will demonstrate that the compression effects
gravity has on bodily articulations (joints) during a vertical jump and a
horizontal jump, are quite different.
This workshop can be LIVE in person with participants and/or conducted through Zoom. However it must be LIVE Zoom not recorded to receive CECs.
OUTLINE:
I. Description of
Pilates Jumpboard and its connection to the Reformer.
2. Theory behind gravity and how it effects horizontal and
vertical movements.
3. Explanation why Reformer Jumpboard jumping is horizontal
motion.
4. Demonstration of 6 selected Anatomical jumping positions
encompassing all planes of movement.
5. Conclusion
OBJECTIVES:
1. To offer a detailed explanation of the spring mechanics
while gaining a thorough understanding of the eccentric phase of the muscle
contraction.
2. Total awareness of
how the horizontal recoil phase of the tension springs simulate the vertical
gravitational force.
3. Have fun trying new Jumpboard positions and working with
different spring setting as timing intervals.
4. Depending on enrollment, workshop session up to 2 hrs -3 hrs.
HOSTING STUDIO & REQUIRMENTS:
